There is a strong
interest in debating at Abbotsford Public School and we are enthusiastic
participants in the Inner West Debating Competition. At present the team
is coached by Ms Schenker, the teacher librarian, and meets both in school time
and during lunchtimes, as required. |

The program caters for both students
talented in public speaking and debating and for those simply keen to
learn and improve their skills. The debating group encourages all Stage
3 students to participate and currently we have 16 members.

| Our debaters
have experienced great success over the past few years. In 2005 and 2006
we reached the semi-finals of the competition and in 2007 we reached the
Grand Final. |
