Environment Programs

The school’s extensive grounds continue to benefit from improvements co-ordinated by the Grounds Committee.

Each class has a designated garden area to maintain and develop.

World Tree Day is celebrated each year with a range of new plantings around the school grounds

Landscape projects are support by a variety of grants including a 2006 grant from the Canada Bay Club

3 water tanks supply garden areas where native plantings are regularly added to supplement existing shrubs, ground covers and trees.

The Green Team of senior students conducts bi-weekly paper recycling for every classroom and office while the Green Busters Program manages the tidiness of the school grounds

Projects identified by the Grounds Committee are completed as funds become available. Landscape designers and horticulturists advise the school on design concepts and planting schemes based on local flora.

A Shade House on the school site was refurbished in 2007 and will be used to propagate plants for the school grounds and the wider community.

Badminton was introduced in 2007
