Abbotsford Public school has a well- stocked library and is a centre for literature and resource- based learning in the school. Students K-6 have access to a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books and are encouraged to read for both information and enjoyment.

The Library is open from Tuesday to Friday and all classes visit the library during this time. Each lesson is of 40 minutes duration and students are taught research and information skills, as well as literature appreciation. In addition, the library is open during lunchtimes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Students may borrow, browse, search for information on the Internet or play a quiet game during this time. Parents and students are also most welcome to visit the library before school on Thursday, or at other times by arrangement.

Borrowing

Students in K and Year 1 may borrow one book per week;

Students in Year 2 may borrow two books per week;

Year 3 may borrow three books etc.

In order to protect the resources, we ask that all students use a library bag to transport books to and from school.
