Music
is a vital part of life, including life at school. Given the right
opportunities, children’s early fascination with music can develop into
a life long enthusiastic involvement in musical activities.
It is
generally accepted that all children have the right to music education.
All have their own unique instrument – the voice! Whilst music has
intrinsic value, it also contributes to children’s development in many
areas. Skills include aural, oral, communication, memory and
performance. Social skills, such as self-confidence and self-esteem are
encouraged through group activities.
