Welcome to the wonderful world of KM for 2009!

Teacher - Mrs Sue McKay

Class Profile - KM has 19 students -10 boys and 9 girls

All students have settled well into their first year of school. They are becoming independent and enthusiastic pupils who are developing a love of learning. The KM children are displaying a caring attitude for each other. They are a co-operative group of children who possess a lively spirit. We have a class bear called Ronald, each night one of us takes him home and he participates in our family life. We write stories, draw pictures and take photos of Ronald. Our class loves Ronald.

Highlights of the Year So Far

	We focused on Nursery Rhymes in Term One.
	KM have begun learning sounds.
	Home reading started in Week 7.
	We go to the Music Specialist on Tuesday.
	On Friday we borrow from the library and learn Italian.
	On Tuesday and Friday we have Munch and Crunch . We bring fruit and vegetables to school and have a snack in the classroom.
	We have enjoyed the Foster Buddy Program. Froggie craft and the Environmental Bingo were lots of fun.
	We do Diary Writing every morning and we appreciate parent helpers in this activity.
	We have just completed Sena Testing and we look forward to Count Me In Groups next term. Parent Helpers are invited to assist with this program also.
	We have read lots of exciting adventures of "Snugglepot and Cuddlepie " by May Gibbs. We went to the Seymour Theatre and saw a live performance.
	We watched "Cinderella" in the school hall. This was the first time most of us had seen and heard Opera.
	We go to the computer room with Mrs Weeks every second Friday. We are learning to use a program called Kid Pix. We felt very clever when we drew a picture of ourselves and made a bookmark.
	We showed our grandfriends the things we have learnt at school when they visited us for Grandfriends Day.
	We enjoy learning through drama, song and dance.

Next term there are so many more things to look forward to learning like Tri-skills, learning high frequency words, starting reading groups, and the Athletics Carnival.
