Welcome to 5/6I
2009
This year we have 31 students in our class 17 in year 6 and 14 in year
5.As we approach the end of term 1 it is fun to look back and reflect on
some of the highlights. Cinderella On Tuesday March 17th
2009 , the Giacomo Rossini Opera group came to our school. They performed
Cinderella for us. There were a few additions ;one of the stepsisters was a
doll and there was a puppet mouse named Rupert .It was an entertaining
experience that everyone enjoyed . The best part was probably the fairy
Godfather's spell :Mumbo Jumbo , Alacizam, Hakuna Matata! |

Art work
The Man from Snowy River & Margaret Preston
The Man from Snowy River is a poem written by Banjo
Patterson. To go with our poem everyone in the class painted their own
vision of a part from the poem. Most people painted a horse surrounded
with mountains in the outback. In Art we have also used crayons to draw
a picture of a tea set by Margret Preston. Everyone had to use black
and white crayon and then two colours of their own choice. We then did
another painting by Margret Preston. It was a picture of trees dying
in front of mountains in a dry area. We all mixed our own colours and
created our interpretations of all the paintings

Stage 3 Working Models
During term 1, Stage 3 had to
construct a working small to medium sized model for homework. This was a
very exciting and enjoyable task for us. We especially enjoyed presenting
them to our own and other classes. We demonstrated how they work. In our
class we saw models such as: a tram station, a wishing well, catapults, wind
mills, different kinds of amusement park rides, a few different kinds of
cars and a lolly machine.
