Welcome to 3/4N's class page.
What a great start to the year we
have had. 3/4N presented to the school community our Assembly on 'Forensic
Science'. It involved getting 'real' forensic investigators out to the
school to tell us about how science is used to solve crimes. We did our own
forensic testing in class, on powders and fingerprints. We used this
information, data and also scientific equipment to help us in solving
problems. As part of the H.S.I.E topic 'Who will Buy', we sold class made
juggling balls to raise money for our World Vision sponsor child. Our
classroom was like a factory with each person having a special job! We also
designed advertisements in technology classes to promote our products.

Another program we
have enjoyed this year has been Buddies. Each week, we participated in
activities that promoted cooperative learning and friendship. We made a
Friendship Quilt with our Year 5 buddies which is proudly displayed in the
school for all to see. We have also started a pen pal program with students
in a school in Switzerland. We are glad to have these new friends and look
forward to communicating with them via email and also with letters the old
fashioned way. It will be interesting to compare what school and life is
like in Switzerland to what we do in Australia. |

Creative Arts has involved us using line and shape
to express feelings in cartoon portraits. We have featured ourselves and our
grandfriends in these artworks. We have also depicted movement which related
to the Fundamental Movement Skills we have participated in in PE classes
this year. Our classroom is becoming very colourful with the works that are
displayed. One of the excursions we have been on this year was a visit to
our local deli to discuss enterprise in the community. It was very
interesting. Soon, we are off to the theatre to see the production of 'Sadako
and the Thousand Paper Cranes' and we look forward to that.
Thank You for visiting our page, from 3/4N.
