Welcome to 5/6J's class page.

5/6J is one of three senior classes at APS. Students are involved in many whole school activities throughout the year, including the Foster Buddy Program during Term 1.

Year 6 students are buddied up with a Kindergarten child and Year 5 students team up with children from Year 3.

During this program buddies learn a lot about each other and also how to get on with other students in the school. Activities undertaken include art work, sporty games, environmental hunts and craft sessions.

All students gain new school friends and the environment created is one of cooperation, learning and of course fun!

All students participated in our swimming carnival, which was held at Cabarita Pool. Students from 5/6J made sure the day was a success by participating in as many events as they could, ensuring their Sports House received both participation and winners points.

Some students also wore the colours of their respective Houses, though there were a few who looked worse for wear by the end of the day!

One of the tasks undertaken during Term 1 was a project completed by students for their Working Models Science unit.

Models were designed and created at home, then brought to school and presented to the class as a public speaking assignment.

There were some wonderful creations presented by 5/6J students, and everyone was impressed with how well the models performed their tasks.

The unit culminated in a showcase session, where teachers and students from all other classes were invited to view the completed works in Henry Lawson Hall.
